Volunteering for CPERC

Common Buzzard

Stuart Elsom

CPERC has opportunities for volunteers to come in and work alongside our staff to help capture, collate and manage new records from across Cambridgeshire and Peterborough. Other than capturing data into tables we also map it using GIS tools that help visualise the context of what is going on where.

You could help us describe the biodiversity in our local area by getting in touch and asking about current opportunities. We would be particularly keen in talking to those with an eye for detail, knowledge or interest in natural history, data management and GIS.

Unfortunately, CPERC are currently unable to accomodate new volunteers.

County Bird Recorder Assistant wanted

The amount of bird records received by the club each year is ever increasing, so much so that the task of processing records for the annual bird report has become an enormous job for one person. The county recorder has asked if anyone would be interested in helping process the spreadsheet data so it can then be used by the report section writers.

An interest in birding and/or experience of wildlife recording would be a useful advantage. Not only will you be helping with the report but you will also be learning about all the interesting records generated by the county bird datasets.

If you are interested in helping please contact Jon at cbcrecorder@gmail.com
